Amazon Hub Counter is expanding its click and collect footprint by teaming up with in-store payment services firm, PayPoint in its efforts to enable merchants to offer flexible pick up options to shoppers.
In May, Amazon announced a new click and collect service called Amazon Hub Counter that gives consumers the ability to pick up their Amazon purchases at their nearest Next store. Now, the service is available in the UK, Italy, and the US to drive strong customer engagement and additional foot traffic for partners.
Following successful trials, Amazon Hub Counter goes live in over 500 stores today and will be rolled out in thousands of shops across the UK, combining online shopping with the convenience of accessing PayPoint’s wide network of retailers.
Amazon Hub Counter is available on tens of millions of items sold on Amazon.co.uk. The service adds more choice and convenience for online shoppers by giving them the flexibility to pick up their parcels within 14 days from their chosen convenience store or high-street shop.
“We’re excited to be working with PayPoint on expanding the Counter service in the UK. This partnership allows us to offer even more choice and flexibility to Amazon customers while supporting small businesses around the country.”
– Assunta Keenan, director, Europe, Amazon Hub.
“We’re delighted to partner with Amazon to allow our retailers to offer parcel services to even more customers. Online shopping is only continuing to grow in popularity, and retailers who offer parcel collection can tap into that by introducing new customers to their stores and increasing sales.”
– Patrick Headon, chief executive officer, PayPoint.
